Titreyengöl
A small lake inside the Sorgun pine forest east of Side, very close to the sea. Its name comes from the tremor you feel walking on the marshy ground; walking trails and shade ring it.
Titreyengöl is a small lake only a hundred metres or so inland, surrounded by red pine forest. Its name — 'the trembling lake' — comes from the vibration underfoot when you walk the marshy ground around it. The water is fresh and still; nobody swims here, but the shade and cool around it make this the most comfortable corner of the Side area.
Wooden walkways, a running track and picnic areas have been laid out around the lake. It is also good for birdwatching: during migration, waterbirds use this transition zone between forest and lake. Paths through the forest reach Sorgun beach in a few minutes.
The area developed alongside the large holiday resorts nearby, but the lake itself and the surrounding forest are protected. At 7 km from ancient Side and 15 km from Manavgat Waterfall, it fits comfortably into a full day's route. In the late afternoon the forest interior is noticeably cool.
