İncekum Plajı

A shallow cove at Avsallar named after its fine sand. It sits inside a nature park where red pines run down to the sea, so shaded picnic grounds come with it — one of the safest beaches around Alanya for families with children.

İncekum is a long, very shallow cove at Avsallar, around 24 km west of Alanya. The water stays knee-deep for metres out, which has made it a favourite for families with young children. The sand really is fine and pale — noticeably different from the pebble beaches along the Antalya shore.

Behind the beach stretches the 271-hectare İncekum Nature Park. Under the red pines there are picnic tables, barbecue areas and walking paths; even in midsummer the forest interior stays clearly cooler. The municipal public beach section has umbrellas and loungers, showers and toilets.

The small headland at the western end blocks the swell, so the sea is usually very still. That also makes the area good for learning to swim and for snorkelling in shallow water. Weekends fill with local visitors, so weekdays are calmer.
